Þriðjudaginn 4. apríl klukkan 12 flytur Joe Lambert, stofnandi og stjórnandi Sögusetursins í Berkeley í Kaliforníu (Berkeley's StoryCenter, áður Center of Digital Storytelling, st. 1994) fyrirlestur á vegum námsleiðar í hagnýtri menningarmiðlun og Sagnfræðistofnunar Háskóla Íslands sem hann nefnir:
„Stories of Resistance. Digital Storytelling as Community-Engaged Learning in the 21st Century“.
Fyrirlesturinn fer fram í fyrirlestrasal á Háskólatorgi, HT 104. Allir velkomnir.
Fyrirlestrinum er lýst svo: „Lambert will discuss the role of storywork and digital storytelling in the current US political crisis. He will situate the work in education and community activism as part of a legacy of politically engaged artistic work in the United States dating back to the 1930s, and discuss why liberationist pedagogies continue to have relevance in the US context.
In describing the methods and approach of his center, he will also discuss the narrative underpinnings of the political divides in the US, and why story-based communication strategies are a critical part of the resistance efforts by communities targeted by the current administration.“
Joe Lambert er frumkvöðull í aðferð stafrænna sagna og býr að yfir 20 ára reynslu af því að halda vinnustofur með margs konar hópum; ekki síst í skólum þar sem hann hefur kynnt aðferðir sínar á öllum stigum skólakerfisins í flestum ríkjum Bandaríkjanna og í um 50 löndum. Hann er m.a. höfundur bókanna Digital Storytelling: Capturing Lives, Creating Community (Routledge) og Seven Stages: Story and the Human Experience (Digital Diner Press).
