Abstract. Photosynthesis is a process of creating order on earth.
The first oder occurring from sunlight is electron and nuclear spin order.
This spin order can be observed by NMR spectroscopy.
Analytically the high signal enhancement due to spin order is very valuable.
The question will be discussed whether the nuclear spin order is a
simple by product or whether it also might have functional relevance.
