Tapio Bergholm ræðir um þróun verkalýðshreyfingarinnar í Finnlandi á seinni hluta 20. aldar og ástæður þess að hún efldist svo seint sem raun varð á. Bergholm fjallar einnig um af hverju launa- og tekjustefna gagnvart verkalýðshreyfingunni er svo snar þáttur í efnahagsstefnu finnskra stjórnvalda.
Tapio Bergholm (1958) was Visiting Fellow in Industrial Relations Research Unit in University of Warwick in 1990-1991. He completed his Ph.D. in Finnish and Scandinavian history in 1997. He is docent at University of Helsinki and University of Eastern Finland. His research interests are history of industrial relations and transport –especially port – history. A three volume history of Confederation of Finnish Trade Unions (SAK) covering years 1944-1977 (2005, 2007 and 2012) is his latest research project. He has published in Finnish, Nordic and International Journals several articles. He is President of Finnish Maritime History Association, Vice President of the Executive Council of International Commission for Maritime History and Overseas Corresponding Member for The Society for Nautical Research.
