Ragnheidur is focusing on direct use of geothermal energy for establishment of new innovative businesses. She believes that Iceland has a huge potential in this area due to the valuable natural resources; the renewable energy, sustainable fisheries, clean water and beautiful nature. Increased sustainable production of food and health products combined with education and experience tourism provides enormous possibilities. However, the country´s outstanding nature needs to be preserved and thus, it is necessary to have a clear long-term sight built on a triple helix approach combining businesses, research and governmental institutions.
